My website is a free resource for kids of any age, mostly focusing on junior high-high school era teens. The point of this website is to act as a guided notebook with a series of prompts, started drawings, instructions, and ideas. It could then be transferred onto whatever kind of surface a kid has available to them. Focuses range from learning how to critique and interact with existing art, design, and architecture, as well as learning about things via drawing, learning how to draw things that exist, as well as drawing from imagination. It can be used as a guide for all other school subjects, and will potentially have an interactive component where kids could get help with expressing project ideas through visual means. The website could also be a jumping off point for more organized events, such as installations and exhibitions at art galleries, libraries and schools, following some good examples like the National Gallery in Canberra’s “Art IRL” which brought teenagers into art-making through peer led programming. Broadly though, the website acts as a loose guide on how to be aware and intentional with the production of visual representation at young ages, before entering post secondary/work life.
